Legislative and Strategic Framework of Regional Development Policy is based on: Constitution of the Republic of Serbia, Regional Development Strategy, Stabilization and Association Agreement, National Strategy for the EU Accession, Regional Development Policy and Law on Regional Development.
The countries – members of European community tend to provide accordant development by reducing differences that exist in the level of development of certain regions and of stagnancy of less privileged regions. (The Preamble to the Treaty of Rome, 1958)
